Welcome to Raw Recovery Journey — a space built on honesty, pain, growth, and the relentless pursuit of freedom from addiction.
This isn’t a polished highlight reel. It’s the raw, unfiltered truth about what recovery actually looks like — the ups, the falls, and the slow rebuilding of a life that once felt lost. I’m Isaac, an addict in recovery, and this site exists because I’ve lived the darkness and fought my way toward light. If you’re here, you or someone you love probably knows that same darkness — the disease that consumes, isolates, and destroys.
Raw Recovery Journey is my attempt to turn pain into purpose. It’s a place to share lived experiences — the real lessons that come from relapse, rebuilding, and rediscovering who we are beyond addiction. You’ll find discussions about coping mechanisms, mental health, life skills, spirituality, and tools that can help us navigate the day-to-day grind of staying clean. Books, programs, and honest reflections — everything here is meant to meet you exactly where you are in your journey.
Recovery isn’t pretty. It tears through the layers of denial and shame and forces us to face what’s underneath — our fears, our failures, our emotions. But it also rebuilds us from the inside out. Because addiction doesn’t define us; it’s just one piece of a much bigger picture.
What Raw Recovery Journey Stands For
- Radical honesty. Everything shared here — my own recovery, my setbacks, my progress — is real.
- Integrity. If a product or service is recommended, it’s only because it has genuine value. Transparency always comes first.
- Non-judgment. No story is too dark. No person is beyond help. Every addict carries echoes of the same story, and this space exists to remind all of us that we’re not alone in it.
Raw Recovery Journey isn’t just a website — it’s a movement of brutal truth and shared hope. A reminder that, no matter how far you’ve fallen, recovery is possible. One story, one day, one honest step at a time.

What this site is
Raw Recovery Journey is my take on the brutal, beautiful work of getting free—no sugar coating and no “just think positive” nonsense. It’s written from the perspective of someone who’s been in the muck, who knows how fast addiction can turn life into wreckage, and who’s still learning how to live clean on life’s terms. You’ll find experience-based writing, practical tools, and resources meant to help you build stability—especially in early recovery when everything feels loud and fragile.
Why I write it
I’ve struggled with substances on and off since I was 14, and I’ve spent years doing too much, too fast, and paying for it. In my most recent run, I lost a business, a family, and nearly my freedom for years—again. On February 1st, 2025, I was picked up by local Sheriff’s deputies and given a choice: long-term treatment or prison, which would’ve been my third trip. I chose the recovery journey because I finally hit that place of being sick and tired of being sick and tired.
The core belief
Addiction isn’t only about drugs and alcohol—it’s also about how we see ourselves, what we think we’re worth, and the damage we do when we stop believing we matter. This site is here to push back against that lie by telling the truth, sharing what I’m learning, and pointing people toward real help that actually supports change. Nobody gets judged here—because the details may differ, but the pain, the fear, and the hunger for relief are familiar.
