Editorial Policy
RawRecoveryJourney.com exists to publish recovery content that’s honest, practical, and grounded in best-available evidence—not hype. We write to inform and educate, using plain language that people can actually understand in the middle of chaos. We also post review/publishing updates for transparency, because health information changes and readers deserve to know how current a page is.
What our content is (and isn’t)
This site provides educational information about addiction, recovery, harm reduction, and treatment options, but it is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you’re in immediate danger or considering self-harm, contact emergency services right now. (No citation—this is standard safety direction.)
Standards we follow
Content aims to be accurate, actionable, and evidence-based, using strong sources like clinical guidelines and peer-reviewed research when possible. Sources should be listed or linked so readers can check the evidence themselves. When evidence is limited or mixed, we say so instead of pretending it’s certain.
How we create and review content
We use a consistent workflow that includes research, writing, editing, and a medical/clinical review step for health-related claims when appropriate. Because medicine and best practices evolve, content is reviewed on a schedule and updated sooner when new guidance or evidence makes a difference. If a topic becomes outdated or disproven, the page may be revised heavily or retired rather than left up to mislead people.
Corrections, updates, and transparency
If something we publish is wrong, confusing, misleading, or outdated, we correct or clarify it. Substantive changes may be noted on the page, and every article should show a “Last updated” date so readers can judge freshness at a glance. To request a correction, email contact@rawrecoveryjourney.com with the page URL, what needs fixing, and any supporting source or context.
